5 Things That Boost Post-Workout Recovery

post workout, recovery, Are you always tired from sore muscles, and your workouts are just too much that you feel like you almost to just pass out? Well never fear, things that boost post-workout recovery are right here for you to take note of and use the next time you feel exhausted and just need something to help your body and mind rejuvenate.

These 5 things are very simple and just involve maybe a trip to your grocery store, or may be items that you already have at home. But for the next time you feel your muscles are tired, sore and ache from a good workout, feel free to use these to save your day!

1. Take Potassium

Potassium is extremely popular with body-builders when it comes to a recovery snack or item. Potassium comes in many fruits and veggies, mainly taken from bananas or coconut water. If you feel the need to recover quickly eat some of these and you should notice a speedy recovery.

2. Drink Water

Drinking water is important because it has all the properties you need to help your body through the recovery stage. Water not only hydrates and improves blood flow to your muscles, it also cools them down and helps them recover after a workout. Drink plenty of water and make sure that you are properly hydrated.

3. Eating Protein

Protein contains essential amino acids, which are the building-blocks of muscles. Make sure that you eat a hearty meal right after your workout with plenty of meat, fish or poultry. If you can take a Whey Powder protein shake as soon as you finish your workout.

4. Stretching

Stretching helps remove tension from your muscles, while providing better oxygen and blood flow throughout the body. This helps when your body aches, especially when it helps to release the built up toxins in the muscles and the free radicals moving around the body. Perform a variety of full body exercises or yoga after a good workout.

5. Take Glutamine

Glutamine is an essential antioxidant that the body needs for recovery, and will help with the healing process of your muscles. It’s recommended that you take Glutamine right after your workouts, or I think it’s best to take it a few times a day to help make sure you get enough. You can pick up 1000 capsules of Glutamine on Amazon for just $16.97.

#1 Most Dangerous Thing About Taking A Pre-Workout

#1 Dangerous Thing About Taking A Pre Workout DrinkIf you aren’t familiar with what a pre-workout drink is, let me tell you a little more. Pre-workout drinks can contain things like creatine blends, ginseng, vitamins, stimulants a others introduced things to enhance training and boost your workouts.

These types of drinks can make your workouts amazing, but there is one dangerous thing about taking a pre-workout drink that you should be aware of. They can also ruin your sleep! These drinks have sometimes three times more caffeine than a regular cup of coffee or tea.

This is why I would consider caution if you are thinking about taking these supplements for personal use. They can improve your workouts yes, but they also warn for people to not take them 3-6 hours before bedtime because they can cause sleeplessness.

If you are a person who has a high sensitivity to caffeine then I would suggest that you consider just taking a whey protein shake before your workouts instead.  Taking a pre workout drink can seem to a very great way to get more muscle and burn fat, which they are. Just be safe.

If you want to use a pre-workout supplement, you really need to take care and use them earlier in the day and eat and drink plenty of water. Keep a safe balance with the high dosage of caffeine is really important, because you want to feel good and be able to get the proper rest your body needs.

If a pre-workout becomes a factor in the way your sleeping, then I would suggest stopping immediately. This is why it is the #1 most dangerous thing about taking a pre-workout. Sleeplessness and fatigue may happen if you take a pre-workout often, so make sure that your eating and sleeping right and be safe out there!

Supplement Of The Day: Best Pre Workout Supplement For Bodybuilders

best pre workout supplement, bodybuilders, supplement of the dayThere is no other pre workout supplement that I would rather be using for my workouts than the Superpump Max. This is the best pre workout supplement for bodybuilders, in my opinion, because it time after time continues to surprise me by being 100% reliable and effective for great results!

Over the years Gaspari Nutrition has been making quality products like this one, and continues to deliver the best pre workout supplements for bodybuilders, period. Since pre workout supplements can sometimes fall off with their quality, the Superpump Max is very good at providing results.

The best benefits of this supplement are that it’s very potent and will keep working for you every time you take the product. I have taken just about every pre workout product out there and have always come back to use this one. The results from the energy, focus, pumps and hydration is simply perfect!

This product will help you break through any fatigue barriers, tired days or poor motivation within the first 30 minutes of your training. I can’t imagine working out without this product; it is just that good and a bag of chips!

The new Superpump Max also now has 50 servings per container so it will last longer. I have never had to go over using one scoop of this product even though I have been taking various pre workout supplements for years, while other products need more than one scoop for the best effect.

One of the best things about the Superpump Max is that it is only $29.89 on Amazon with free shipping. This is awesome. I had to purchase my last container in the store for $47.99 plus taxes and the drive over to the supplement store. So if you are looking for your next pre workout purchase, I recommend this one over any others!

If you have any favorite pre workout supplements which find work the best for your workouts, please leave you comments below. Everyone has different preferences, but I would like to hear from people who may have tried this one. Thanks guys!

My Top 5 Favourite Protein Snacks

protein snacks, Almond crusted chickenDo you love your protein like I love my protein? Well then you are going to love my top 5 favourite protein snacks that I eat when I need that extra protein or to satisfy my hunger. Protein is the best thing to eat when you feel low energy, and you are starting to crave foods you know you shouldn’t eat like candy or potato chips.

These 5 favourite protein snacks are ones that you can either create yourself or buy already pre-made or formula mix-made. If you have a local supplements store near you that you buy all your supplements from, you can try to see if they have them. If you cannot find them, you can always buy these protein snacks from Amazon.

If you like delicious home-made recipes you can try this almond covered chicken breast strips like the one in the picture!

#1 – Protein Pudding

This is a new one that I have grown greatly fond of; the chocolate pudding is very tasty and satisfying. I find that my hunger settles down and I really enough the taste of this one. You can eat it on the go, or if you are hungry after your workout and need to eat something fast.

#2 – Protein Jello

A fairly new product that I have seen in a store-bought formula where each contains about 30 grams per cup. You can also make your own if you get the same flavour protein powder as the Jello flavour you use to make them. This may not be as good as the store-bought brand, but it might be worth a shot to save some extra money!

#3 – Protein Pancakes

These I love to make in the morning, especially on Sundays when I am getting ready for a good workout day. They contain about 12 grams of protein per serving, which is two pancakes. You can eat about 4 of these and not be too full, I usually pick up the Protein Plus Pancake Mix on Amazon for a cheap $13.15 with free shipping.

#4 – Protein Oatmeal Cookies

Basically, the ultimate protein snack for extra protein even if you are on the go. The taste of oatmeal mixed with protein, cranberries, raisins, cinnamon or nuts can be the best snack ever. You can pretty much get as creative as you want when you make these cookies by adding whichever ingredients are your favourite.

#5 – Protein Fudge Bars

These are similar to making a home-made protein or meal replacement bar, but can be very delicious. Almost like you are eating a home-made chocolate bar these can contain ingredients of your choosing, then you have at least a dozen servings that are high-protein chocolate fun! Here is a recipe for protein fudge bars to go!

My Top 5 Favourite Pre-Workout Supplements Of All-Time

I just love using pre-workout supplements! I can’t ever see myself working out with without them, I must have to say I am addicted.

Over the last eight years that I have been using supplements I have stuck to only a handful of pre-workout supplements that have worked the best for me hands down.

Since most people who use pre-workout supplements have a one or more than one favourite, it’s really all about preference. Some people choose products that just work for them better than others; this could be anything from the taste of the product or the effectiveness of their workouts.

No matter what product is your favourite, keeping using that same product that works the best for you. Since some of my favorites may not be your favourite, I would still like to list off my top 5 favourite pre-workout supplements.

1. SUPERPUMP 250 or SUPERPUMP MAX

By far my top pick, this supplement provides long lasting energy, extreme mental focus and muscle pumps. I have found that this one works the best for me because it’s basically all I need, the workouts I get give me the optimum resutls everytime and the pump and vacularity last the longest post workout. The taste of the Superpump 250 or Superpump Max is very good also and goes down smooth. Favourite flavour is the fruit punch!

2. NO SHOTGUN

This supplement was the first pre-workout that I ever started with and took it for almost four years. This supplement tastes very funny and is not as effective as its previous formula. The new formula after 2008 was altered, and I notice a significant lack of energy and muscle pump. However, still one of the most popular products, it will stay on the top of this list.

3. M1R

Very new on the market this product delivers a extremely good punch to your training. It’s easy to get great workouts with this supplement because of its great formula, the creatine and ingredients are high quality and easily one that worked well for me.

4. NO EXPLODE

Arguably, one of the most popular pre-workout supplements of all-time, it didn’t reach the top of this list because I found that you needed to take more than one scoop to get the same level of effectiveness than taking other products like Superpump Max. This is a very good-quality product which is probably the best tasting and easiest to mix. I found this product to not be my number one choice because of how potent one scoop of other products like Superpump Max are.

5. JACKED 3D

This is a really awesome product; it comes is small container and can pack a punch. However, I found that after using products like Superpump and M1R, the power of this product couldn’t measure up, so I would use more than one scoop. I also prefer how other supplement sizes have approximately 40-50 servings when Jacked 3D has about 30 servings.

#1 Myth About Taking Pre-Workout Supplements

It’s only water weight right? Is exactly what many people think about what its like taking a pre-workout supplement for their workouts. This simply, isn’t true.

Your results will not just go away after you stop working out and taking the pre-workout supplement. If you keep taking the supplement and your not sleeping, eating right or drinking enough liquids you may feel that you are. However, it’s not true!

A pre-workout supplement will not be a waste of your money, simply because it improves your workout results and builds confidence. With a pre-workout supplement, you would be gaining more abilities to lift heavier and lose fat fast.

Without a pre-workout supplement, you can get good results too, but there are things a pre-workout supplement can help you with that are worth purchasing some. Energy for one, if you have low energy taking a pre-workout will boost your energy levels.

The #1 myth about taking pre-workout supplements is that they are going just adding water weight, but they don’t. You might feel that way at first, but if you continually maintain your fitness level, taking one like NO Xplode, will not be a waste.

When you use supplements to enhance your fitness results, everything helps even multi-vitamins. With a pre-workout,  you are simply helping to feed your body extra things naturally occurring in your body like creatine and nitric oxide, improving muscle growth.

This #1 myth that people have about taking pre-workout supplements simply…is not true. They don’t work if you are not working hard enough to get results in the first place. If you take any pre-workout supplement and aren’t working, you won’t see the results, and they will not work for you.

But if you workout hard, eat well and rest well, pre-workout supplements are a definite must-have to improve your results.
