<p>Yeah, we all know we need protein to build muscle. But nutrition is A LOT more complicated than just protein, fats and carbs. It&#8217;s about micronutrition &#8211; the tens of thousands of nutrients called phytochemicals or antioxidants as well as some other areas of nutrition that have just been studied recently.</p>
<p>Here are what I believe to be the 5 most important nutrition tips to help improve your workouts &#8211; and keep you healthy to boot.</p>
<h2>1. Eat More Fruits and Vegetables</h2>
<p>Studies have shown that <a href="http://www.tomcorsonknowles.com/blog/the-research-on-prevention-and-fruit-and-vegetable-supplements/" target="_blank">eating more fruits and vegetables can reduce muscle damage in athletes</a> and reduce sickness days by as much as 50% as well. Less sick days and less muscle damage means less injuries and workouts missed from being sick! And anyone who&#8217;s a serious athlete knows that even the slightest edge could make all the difference in your results &#8211; not that 50% less sick days is a just a slight edge!</p>
<h2>2. Eat More Omega-3 Fats</h2>
<p>Omega-3 fats are crucial to your health. Researchers say we should eat a ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fatty acids as close to 1:1 as possible. But the average American has a ratio of Omega-3 to Omega-6 fats of 1:45! We&#8217;re way off balance. And that balance of Omega-3 fats is what protects your body from inflammation, the killer that leads to heart disease as well as injuries, soft tissue pain and arthritis.</p>
<h2>3. Get More Vitamin D</h2>
<p>Vitamin D is not just a vitamin &#8211; it&#8217;s a hormone. When scientists first discovered it, they thought it was a vitamin so it was mislabeled. But now we know better &#8211; it&#8217;s a secosteroid hormone that helps modulate over 20% of your genes &#8211; including the ones that help with bone and muscle strength. In fact, researchers now believe a lack of Vitamin D can cause weakened muscles &#8211; definitely not what you want if you&#8217;re working out!</p>
<h2>4. Eat More Fiber</h2>
<p>When you workout, your body needs every ounce of energy to deliver maximum results. If you&#8217;re backed up (constipated) because you&#8217;re not eating enough fiber, your body has to spend all that extra energy and resources working on getting your digestive system back on track. Eating a high fiber diet rich in whole foods like fruits, vegetables, berries, whole grains, nuts, seeds and legumes will not only make sure you get plenty of antioxidants, but plenty of fiber as well to make your digestive system work better.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s also important because your body creates more waste products and free radicals when you workout &#8211; so the cleaner your digestive system is, the better your body will be able to eliminate extra waste products from your workouts.</p>
<h2>5. Eat More Berries</h2>
<p>Dark blue and purple berries are known for their anthocyanins, a group of powerful antioxidants naturally occurring in many kinds of produce, but especially in blue and purple berries. These antioxidants not only help fight cancer and other diseases, they also help protect your endothelial cells &#8211; the single layer of cells that surround your blood vessels. These endothelial cells are responsible for the release of Nitric Oxide, which is what helps your blood vessels expand when you need more blood flow &#8211; like when you work out (or in bed too!).</p>
<p>Berries also help protect your blood vessels in other ways and may even help small capillaries form and function much better &#8211; like the tiny capillaries in your muscles that provide oxygen and nutrients to the muscle during workouts.</p>

Eating enough amazingly delicious meals in your day? I bet you haven&#8217;t. This stuffed pork chops&#8217;s recipe will blow your mind and shatter your senses.</p>
<p>If your active and need to get enough protein in your diet, each pork chops, you eat will contain at least twenty grams of protein. First, you need to have the chops, when you buy them make sure that you buy thick ones that are going to be easier to stuff since most are quite thin.</p>
<p>Second you want to get the fillings for them which you will love that will pack that extra punch of flavour and protein. Use nuts, berries, herbs, veggies and spices to create something that you will enjoy. This meal will be more filling, and you will have a big smile on your face after you finish!</p>
<p>Grill or bake the chops after you have prepared them. If want to use a really excellent marinade, that is also a good suggestion to help with the flavour and keep the chops most after they are cooked. If you want to marinade them, let them sit for at least an hour in your sauces.</p>
<p>Once you have finished with them, you can Grill or bake them, just ensure that they are sealed tight to hold in the contents and flavour. Then you are done, Bon Appitie!!</p>

Women tend to be avoiding being in shape and end up being in worse shape than men. Why is this? Well, we are going to walk through this and break down why women are not getting in better shape.</p>
<p>Women aren&#8217;t all guilty for making mistakes, and men even do the same thing. However, when it comes to fitness, you can&#8217;t just put your feet in the water; you have to jump it and go full steam. Results aren&#8217;t gained by only doing one eight of the work; we all need to give it everything to see improvement!</p>
<p><strong>1. Women Don&#8217;t Do Enough Of The Right Cardio</strong></p>
<p>Women, you may be guilty of doing cardio, which actually doesn&#8217;t give your body the challenge it needs. Forget the 20 minutes of cardio on an average setting and do intervals that are going to kick your booty and shape it faster as well. Try doing anywhere from 10-15 minutes on a high level for 1 minute straight and cut half that intensity for two. Doing this will burn more fat, kick start your metabolism and get muscles working harder.</p>
<p><strong>2. Women May Be Talking To Much</strong></p>
<p>Men are also guilty of this too! Get in and get out, the gym is no place to be talking about what you did on the weekend with your buddies. That&#8217;s what Facebook or a bar is for! Shorter rest periods equal better workouts, take care of your business and get in and out to eat and recover with proper nutrition.</p>
<p><strong>3. Women May Be Not Eating Enough Protein</strong></p>
<p>Many women are guilty of eating too many carbohydrates such as comfort foods that are baked, can&#8217;t forget that protein. Does protein taste bad? Simply eat more meat and veggies that are higher in protein like broccoli and asparagus. Put down that cupcake and chocolate and eat some nuts!</p>
<p><strong>4. Women May Be Using Enough Weight</strong></p>
<p>Really, is that 5-pound weight you are lifting going to even tone any muscle? Try doing more challenging moves that work your body and use your own body weight. Do pull ups, chin ups, dips and box jumps. This will carve some muscle and tone your entire body!</p>
<p><strong>5. Not working out enough </strong></p>
<p>Workout classes are not going to keep you fit if you do them twice a week, step up the workouts and go at least four days a week and go running at last twice a week. Commitment to fitness is about changing lifestyle and doing less of the activities that promote unhealthy choices.</p>

How many times have you drop your weights on your iPod nano or had your Mp3 player stepped on when you were expecting it? It happens my friend and there is nothing we can do stop the tragedy&#8230;</p>
<p>These poor devices take abuse, and they do so much for our workout motivation and success. However, they get tossed aside and crushed to the point of no return. Over the years, I have crushed two iPods myself and destroyed at least ten pairs of headphones.</p>
<p>Not that I abuse my workout accessories but these things just happen, and happen when you least expect them to. So say this tragedy might be avoidable if you wear your iPod around your sleeve, but we don&#8217;t all have that luxury. iPod&#8217;s drop and iPod&#8217;s break, do you have a story?</p>
<p>My last iPod that got broken was a second generation iPod shuffle that was sadly smashed like a pancake with a 80 pounds dumbbell after a chest press exercise. The iPod went first to the ground and then followed the heavy weight, ending the life of the poor iPod.</p>
<p>However, now I have a brand-new shuffle, and this ends the sad tale of the crushed gym iPod. Until next time, keep your iPod&#8217;s safe!</p>
