Does Muscle Confusion Really Work?

Are you unsure of what Muscle Confusion really is, and if it actually works well? Well muscle confusion has only been introduced into mainstream workouts like P90x until recently, but muscle confusion has been around since the dawn of man walked the earth.

Muscle confusion is the systematic changes your make while doing exercises, so that your body doesn’t get used to what exercises you’re doing. “Variety is the spice of life”, this saying is exactly what your thinking should be regarding your workouts and fitness.

Traditionally people never used to get such things as Muscle Plateau or Muscle Breakdown, they used to play sports or work in the fields to keep fit. But now people are able to workout in gym’s and use weights to exercise and build muscles, which has one major flaw. The Plateau Effect!

Think about our ancestors the caveman, they simply woke up and hunted for food climbing rocks and trees never doing the same type of exercise the same day after day. But now people use the same machines and do the same exercises, causing the opposite effects like muscle breakdown and preventing muscles to develop.

You have to continuously change your workout all the time to keep them fresh and let your body be challenged in different ways. Why do you think that people in there 50′s who do workouts like P90x are in better shape than people in there 20′s, it’s all thanks to muscle confusion.

So Does Muscle Confusion Really Work?

The answer is YES. Now that your familiar with what muscle confusion is, you can now learn how it works to improve results and use it to your advantage. For example, most people have a workout program that spans over a few months. Plan your workout exercises to change every couple of weeks and your going to see huge results.

You might feel sore like you have worked muscles in places you never thought you had, but that’s just the point. When you challenge your body, it not only compensates, but it builds more muscle to perform better since it has been challenged to do so.

When you do more muscle confusion in your workout like mixing up sets and reps, your muscles work harder. The more your muscles work, the more calories and fat your also going to burn, this is why you see those people who have done the p90x workout routine and they are completely ripped with literally no body fat left on them.

Utilizing muscle confusion for example doing circuit training, can really help you make the best of you workouts. Also if you try to learn more types of exercises, you can learn how to challenge each muscle group more effectively and help to avoid those plateaus where your muscles stop growing.
